Our Therapists now provide care at Methodist Cancer Care rehabilitation Center
Forté has been providing oncology rehabilitation to area cancer patients for over 19 years. What started in 2002 as a small lymphedema clinic with 1 treatment room has grown into a much larger and busier practice, now providing oncology rehabilitation for over 500 new patients annually. The clinic has grown rapidly over the past year, and we needed to find more room to accommodate our growing number of patients and staff.
As on 6/27/22, we have moved into an amazing new facility at larger space at the TNI Building at 4410 Medical drive. This has been made possible by a wonderful partnership with Methodist Hospital. The very thoughtful and forward-thinking powers-that-be at Methodist Hospital understand the gap in access to rehabilitation for cancer patients. They reached out to me in 2019 to explore how a partnership between Methodist and Forté could improve that access to rehabilitation. The result of the 2 ½ year-long project is that Forté is partnering with Oncology Rehab, a rehabilitation practice in Denver, CO. My dear friends and partners in Denver share Forte’s vision, have very similar approaches to care, and have the same values. Our new company will be contracting with Methodist Hospital to provide outpatient oncology rehab professionals, clinical expertise, and oncology programming, while Methodist will supply the brick and mortar, equipment, and corporate support.
In addition to a more comfortable and spacious rehabilitation center, there will be some changes to the way we bill for our services. Patients seen at the new Methodist Cancer Care Rehabilitation Center will be Methodist patients and services will be billed as hospital-based outpatient rehabilitation services. We are checking peoples benefits as a courtesy and will be reaching out to people whose billing may change significantly. Our team will be here to answer any billing questions you may have – please call our offices if you have any questions.
We will all miss our little clinic overlooking the golf course, not only because of the great space and views, but also because of all the wonderful memories we will take with us, including the privilege of getting to know all of you. Despite the sadness of leaving our old home, and the challenges change always brings, all of us at Forte are excited for this move and what our growth means to the many people who need us now and in the future. We look forward to seeing you again in the new space and look forward to the new memories we will create there with you!
